John has produced comprehensive preview series for each World Cup finals since 1994. Featuring indepth statistical information, famous World Cup stories, fans and expert opinions, each series was played nationally on ABC Local Radio.
Here is an excerpt from the 2006 series where fans from many of the competing teams shared their hopes and dreams for Deutschland 2006.

John has commentated on numerous A-League, Socceroo and NSL games for ABC Radio and TV.
While not able to call games as often as he would have liked it, John did get to commentate the 2nd leg of the Asian Champions League Final which despite the result was an unforgettable night because of the atmosphere at a jam-packed Hindmarsh Stadium.
John has also called numerous A-League matches, most recently Adelaide United's trip to Brisbane in Septmeber 2010. Here's some commentary from a 2009 clash between Adelaide United and the Newcastle Jets.

Since 2000 John has provided comprehensive, award winning coverage of the Tour Down Under. Whether bringing you the action from inside a team car or living in the pocket of a rider for TDU week, John has helped many ABC radio listeners learn about the complex world of cycling.

For the 2010 and 2011 Santos Tours Down Under John worked for the race organisation, providing live minute-by-minute text coverage for the STDU website.

In 2008, the TDU turned ten years old. To commemorate the anniversary, John produced a 30 minute documentary called "Riding High" which looked at the conception and history of the race.
