I’m a passionate media practitioner. John Thompson-Mills is a passionate media professional with more than 25 years experience.
Working as presenter, producer, reporter, writer and public speaker, John has spent most of his career at the ABC in Adelaide and while he is well known as a football (soccer) and cycling reporter, John has steadily developed a range of new skills.
After leaving the ABC in mid-2009, John completed his multimedia-focused Journalism degree (Uni SA) and then spent 2010 producing KG & The General--a daily sports show, hosted by Ken Cunningham and Phil Smyth.
John began 2011 working for the Tour Down Under and then took up various freelance opportunities. These included producing at 891 ABC Adelaide, writing magazine articles, plus writing and editing copy for the redesigned South Australian Tourism Commission website South Australia.com.
John is delighted to be still at the ABC in 2013 where he is producing Drive with Michael Smyth. This follows an 18 month spell with Ian Henschke. 891 ABC Adelaide.
John is also an accomplished public speaker and last year hosted the South Australian Tourism Industry Council's E-Tourism Convention.
John is also blogging weekly for The Roar,which allows him to focus on one of his two sporting passions. He also has his own blog jtm's blog, "balls and bikes!"
I'm an experienced presenter, producer, public speaker, reporter & writer. Applications I use are: Pro Tools, In Design, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
