John has spent the first half of 2011 writing and editing copy for the new SATC website. John covered all the major tourism regions including the Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Barossa Valley, Flinders Ranges and Fleurieu Peninsula. The website was launched in early August. South Australia.com.
John has written several stories for Adelaide's Child Magazine including articles on the lack of a Paediatric Cardiac Surgery Unit in Adelaide and the problems facing night-time child care in the city.

In October 2009, John produced several movies for Education Adelaide. Using still images and audio interviews, the movies were based on the experiences of international students from Vietnam who spent time in Adelaide on AusAID scholarships.This is Ha's story. This is My's story.
In July 2009, John was closely involved in the production of a series for the BBC called the New Australians. Written and presented by highly credentialed freelance journalist Sharon Mascall, John's multimedia production skills were singled out as world-class. .The New Australians.
John Thompson-Mills is, in my view, a journalist of distinction with outstanding technical and audio production skills. In 2009, he worked with me on The New Australians - a BBC World Service radio series that contributed towards my success in the 2010 SA Media Awards. At one stage during the project, I needed someone in Adelaide with world-class technical and audio production expertise. John was the obvious choice. I went on to refer him for multi-media production work with the South Australian Government. I would not hesitate to recommend John for any journalistic or broadcast assignment. He is, in my view, one of the finest independent multi-media producers in South Australia.

In June 2009 John interviewed the football legend Ian Rush at an event I organised in Adelaide. With only a few weeks notice John helped make the evening a huge success for the 200 attendees of the dinner. The interview with Ian was as smooth and professional as anything Parky could have done.
