I’m a passionate media practitioner. John Thompson-Mills has mostly channeled this passion through the radio, but is enjoying the challenges and opportunities offered across the current multimedia landscape.
In July 2009, after 23 years at the Adelaide ABC, producing, presenting and reporting on everything from international affairs to sport and youth culture, John decided to leave the organisation and see what other career challenges he could find. His sporting passions aside, football (soccer) and cycling, John is now steadily developing a range of new skills .
John completed his multimedia-focused Journalism degree (Uni SA) in 2009 and spent 2010 producing KG & The General--a daily sports show, hosted by Ken Cunningham and Phil Smyth. John began 2011 working for the Tour Down Under and since then has been enjoying various freelance opportunities. These include producing at 891 ABC Adelaide, writing magazine articles and writing and editing copy for the redesigned South Australian Tourism Commission website.
John also has a blog which focuses on his two sporting passions jtm's blog, "balls and bikes!"
I'm an experienced presenter, producer, public speaker, reporter & writer. Applications I use daily are: Pro Tools, In Design, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
